It's 3 years since the last addenda for the first workflow book so I don't expect more posts relating the the first edition.

However, because the second edition of the workflow book includes more authors and was created even more collaboratively we decided to post addenda for that book here.
I don't believe you need to register to this site to get access, but just in case you do - it's free.

An ooops from me in the Alloy by IBM and SAP chapter.... you are not limited to 2 decision outcomes even if you don't use the generic decision task but something fancier instead. (page 656)

Clarification is needed for the section on translation in section 7.5.8 (page 216) referring to transaction SE63.

The simple parts of the workflow such as the step names are translated using the menu function extras->translation.

The descriptions and work item texts are translated using transaction se63

The transport entries required are:
  • R3TR PDWS for workflows
  • R3TR PDTS for tasks.

To translate the relevant task, enter its number (without WS or TS).

Dear readers,
Just to let you know that Jocelyn has started a series on using ABAP OO objects in workflow (and the advantages thereof). At the time we wrote the book this was not possible. But now....

Hope you find this useful,

On page 197 in the English version and page 234 of the German version we incorrectly state that the binding goes from the task to the workflow and back again in the description of activity steps (table 7.1) .

It should read:
Execution of a task or subworkflow. At runtime, data is passed from the workflow container to the task or subworkflow on creation
of the matching work item, and vice versa on work item completion.

Thank you Prof.Rainer Weber and Tobias Krügel for pointing this out.

MIT has changed the workflow forum from a listserver to listman. This means that the registration process changed after the book was published.

Here is how you register to the forum now:

Please visit the URL below and follow instructions for subscribing to the list
http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/sap-wug

You may also unsubscribe, and set various subscriber options from this page. This is also the page that will host the archive some time in the near future.

Due to popular request, we've produced an index of transactions and reports referred to in the book.
